Overview:
Scarlett doesn’t remember anything before the age of five. Her parents say it’s from the trauma of seeing her house burn down, and she accepts the life they’ve created for her without question—until a car accident causes Scarlett to start remembering pieces of an unfamiliar past.
When a new guy moves into town, Scarlett feels an instant spark. But Noah knows the truth of Scarlett’s past, and he’s determined to shield her from it...because Scarlett grew up in a cult called Eternal Light, controlled by her biological parents.
And they want her back.

I actually really loved the idea of this book. It was intriguing and definitely a new subject for me. I really got hooked into the plot and the different point of views that the author portrayed throughout the story. This book was definitely a weird story, but in a good way. It definitely paid homage to the idea that everything is perception and what we make of our beliefs.
I honestly believe this book could have been downright amazing, but it was almost lacking in every other aspect besides the initial idea. The characters were pretty flat and the writing style seemed to take away from the book more than contribute. Maybe I am being too severe in my judgements, but I suppose I feel with an idea this strong and potentially powerful message, that everything else should measure up accordingly.
I honestly found myself not all that interested in the book once the initial storyline unfolded. I felt as if I was missing out on something great and I constantly found myself expecting and wanting more..... more emotion, more powerful characters, more feeling... just more.
