Overview:
Thirty-five girls are selected. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.
But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.
Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.
My Review:

This is a fun yet sometimes annoying, young adult dystopian romance. The characters are well thought out but their interactions left me wanting. America definitely drive me up a wall sometimes with how much she flip flopped on where her heart lies. The book kind of dragged on and on and I was anxiously awaiting the real climax but I felt sort of deflated when it finally came because the book pretty much ended right there. This is definitely more of a romance than actual dystopian book and there in-car very much world building at all. It's kinda of like Cass tried to throw The Bachelor(reality t.v. series), The Hunger Games(with no fight to the death), and a romance all together. To be honest, it definitely came across as a bit of a jumbled mess. There is pretty much no world building or plot other than the romance, a love triangle and a dash of rebels thrown in for excitement. That being said, I'm all for reading the series on my down time for some light hearted romance.
